The short answer

What is a propagation support system?

A propagation support system addresses every stage of propagation — root initiation, root structure, nutrient and water uptake, root-zone health, and stress recovery — rather than initiation alone. Root Awakening™ supports all five systems in one low-EC solution for cuttings, corms, and tissue cultures in water, pon, semi-hydro, or soil.

WHY PROPAGATIONS REALLY FAIL

Why won't my cutting root?

Most cuttings fail for one of five reasons: no node, microbial rot in stagnant water, insufficient light, low temperature, or transition stress after potting. Root initiation itself is rarely the bottleneck — the propagation environment is. Traditional rooting hormones address one of those five. Root Awakening was formulated for the rest.

What it supports

Five systems. One protocol.

Healthy propagation isn't about making roots appear — it's about helping them develop, stay healthy, and establish. Root Awakening™ supports multiple root-development pathways instead of a single-action approach.

First white root emerging from a cutting node in water
01Root initiation Moves props, corms, and rehabs into active root growth sooner
Dense lateral root branching on a rooted Hoya cutting
02Root structure Thicker, more resilient roots that survive transition
Fine root hairs absorbing water and nutrients
03Nutrient & water uptake Helps young and recovering roots absorb what they need
Clean propagation vessels with Alocasia corms
04Root-zone health A cleaner propagation environment, less stagnation
Recovered Alocasia plants after acclimation
05Stress recovery Support through shipping shock, rehab, and acclimation

Quick answers

Propagation, answered

Why won't my cutting root?
Most cuttings fail for one of five reasons: no node on the cutting, microbial rot in stagnant water, insufficient light, temperature below 65°F, or transition stress after potting. Root initiation is rarely the bottleneck — the propagation environment is. A node is required: cuttings without one will never root.
Is Root Awakening a rooting hormone?
No. Root Awakening is a propagation support system formulated to work across multiple root-development pathways — root initiation, root structure, nutrient and water uptake, root-zone health, and stress recovery — rather than the single-action approach of a traditional rooting hormone. It is designed for cuttings, corms, tissue cultures, and stressed plants.
Does rooting hormone work in water propagation?
Powder and gel rooting hormones largely wash off in water, which limits their effect in water propagation. Root Awakening is formulated as a water-borne solution, so its multi-pathway formula remains active in water, pon, and semi-hydro environments throughout the rooting period.
How do you propagate Alocasia from corms?
Remove corms from the soil or pot base, peel the dry husk if loose, and set them root-side down in a shallow vessel with high humidity, warmth, and bright indirect light. Refresh the water or substrate weekly. Corms typically sprout in 2–6 weeks; rot and stalling are the main failure modes Root Awakening is designed to support against.
How do I fertilize plants in LECA or pon?
In inert substrates like LECA and pon, plants have no nutrient reserve, so every watering should carry a complete, low-EC nutrient solution including calcium and magnesium. Feed at roughly quarter to half strength year-round, flush monthly to prevent mineral buildup, and reduce feeding during winter dormancy.
Can I use Root Awakening on vegetables or edible plants?
No. Root Awakening is for ornamental plants only. It is not FDA approved for use on vegetables, herbs, or any plant intended for consumption. It is not for human or animal consumption — keep it out of reach of children and pets, and use only as directed on the label.
